MOPS stands for
Mothers of Preschoolers (birth
through kindergarten),
an international support network of women who share the common
bond of pre-school age children.
About MOPS at DEC
We are:
-
women seeking to fully embrace the “preschoolers” season of
our life
-
moms ranging in age from our 20’s to our 40’s
-
first time moms and beyond
-
seeking friendship, encouragement, a break
-
meeting twice a month at DEC
At our meetings, we:
-
listen to interesting speakers addressing relevant and
challenging issues for women and families
-
share our joys, our difficulties and our experience with ups
and downs in a safe place
-
enjoy a two-hour window of adult company, complete with
great food
Meanwhile, our children (lovingly called the Moppets):
-
are in the loving care of experienced adults in
age-appropriate settings
-
Play, learn, sing and enjoy doing crafts
-
Make new friends, too
Beyond MOPS meetings we:
-
Have playdates for both moms and kids to grow in friendship
-
Meet for mom’s nights out to have fun
-
Schedule seasonal activities like apple picking, sledding
and playground time
